We spent a long day Sunday putting the installation together. While I worked on securing the three sections of the kayak, Alison painted the drywall that went on top of the base. We rigged the lights, hung the kayak, and placed the pictures. The design evolved: what was going to be lit from below is now lit from spotlights at the side. The installion is finished, except for needing bulbs in the two large spots, on the left and right. It is titled "The Quietest Place."
Artomatic is located at 1200 First Street, NE, Washington, DC, and runs from 9 May to 15 June 2008 (see http://www.artomatic.org/ for more information).

When I first walked by the piece I was really struck by the way the waves shimmered. Well done!
